The story behind SutraaKoosh
A note from Poonam, and the path from one loom in Banaras to your wardrobe.
A needle and thread, passed down and carried forward
Growing up, I used to watch my mother stitch clothes — first lovingly for our family, and then for her clients. Inspired by her, I picked up the needle and thread around the age of 12 or 13 to help her out. What started as simple assistance during my summer breaks soon turned into a deep passion.
That passion led me to pursue a degree in Fashion Design right after high school, laying the foundation for my career in the fashion industry. But as I grew in this space, a bigger purpose took shape: empowering rural artisans and keeping traditional Indian crafts alive.
Today, our mission is to bring India's rich handloom heritage into everyday fashion. By taking handwoven creations to customers across towns, cities and states, we aim to support artisan communities directly, giving their art the love, recognition and livelihood it truly deserves.

Returns & Exchanges
We offer a 10-day exchange window from the date of delivery, only in cases of product defects, damage, or broken items. To process your request, a continuous, unedited unboxing video (without any pauses or interruptions) showing the sealed package being opened is strictly mandatory.
Yes, every saree comes with a matching 0.8m unstitched running blouse fabric piece. It is not pre-stitched — you're welcome to get it tailored locally to your fit.
Valid exchange requests — for a defect, damage, or breakage, backed by the mandatory unboxing video — are picked up free of cost. We're currently unable to offer exchanges for personal reasons such as sizing or colour preference.
Fabric & Care
We recommend dry-cleaning silk and zari-work sarees. Store folded in a muslin cloth, away from direct sunlight, and refold along new lines every few months to prevent the fabric from weakening at the crease.
All our sarees are colourfast-tested before listing. Even so, we suggest a first dry-clean rather than a home wash for any saree with zari or embellishment.
Most of our zari work uses tested zari (a silver-and-gold coated thread), noted individually on each product page. Pure zari pieces are labelled clearly and priced accordingly.
Blouse Piece & Customization
No — every saree comes with an unstitched 0.8m running blouse fabric piece, matching the saree. We don't offer in-house blouse stitching at the moment; you're welcome to get it tailored locally to your fit.
For bridal orders especially, yes. WhatsApp us a reference image and we'll check with our weaving partners on feasibility and timeline.
Bridal Assistance
Yes, a 20-minute video call with our styling team is complimentary on any order over ₹10,000 — we help with colour, drape style and coordinating jewellery tones.
We recommend at least 2–3 weeks for bridal pieces, to allow enough time for delivery and for your blouse to be tailored locally before the function.
This website is owned and operated by SutraaKoosh by Poonam ("we", "us", "our"), a saree label based in Pune, Maharashtra, India. By accessing or using this website, or by placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use this website.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or be using this website under the supervision of a parent or guardian, to place an order with us. By placing an order you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
3. Products & pricing
We make every effort to display our sarees, their fabric, colour and craft details as accurately as possible. Since our pieces are handwoven and hand-finished, slight variations in colour, weave or embellishment from the photographs shown are natural and not considered a defect.
All prices are listed in Indian Rupees (₹) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to change prices, product availability and offers at any time without prior notice. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time you complete checkout.
4. Orders & acceptance
Placing an order on this website is an offer to purchase. An order is confirmed only once you receive an order confirmation from us by email or WhatsApp. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order — for example in cases of pricing errors, suspected fraud, or stock unavailability — in which case any amount paid will be refunded to the original payment method.
5. Payments
We accept UPI, major debit and credit cards, net banking and popular wallets, all processed securely online via Razorpay. Full payment is required at the time of checkout. We do not store your card or banking details on our servers.
6. Intellectual property
All content on this website — including the SutraaKoosh by Poonam name and logo, product photography, saree designs, page layouts and written content — is the property of SutraaKoosh by Poonam and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. It may not be copied, reproduced or used commercially without our prior written consent.
7. Prohibited use
You agree not to misuse this website — including attempting unauthorised access to our systems, interfering with its normal operation, or using it for any unlawful purpose. We reserve the right to suspend access to anyone found doing so.
8. Limitation of liability
While we take care in packaging and shipping every order, SutraaKoosh by Poonam shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from delayed delivery, courier-related issues, or events beyond our reasonable control. Our liability for any claim is limited to the value of the order in question.
9. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes arising from them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, Maharashtra.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.

If you pay online, your payment is processed directly by our payment gateway partner — we do not collect or store your full card or banking details.

We share your order details only with the parties needed to fulfil it — our courier and logistics partners (for delivery) and our payment gateway (for processing payments). We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights

7. Children's privacy
Our website is not directed at children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Refund & Exchange Policy
Our sarees are handled and quality-checked with care before dispatch — here's how we handle exchanges when something isn't right.
Because each saree is individually packed and quality-checked, we offer a 10-day exchange window from the date of delivery, strictly for cases of a product defect, damage in transit, or a wrong item received. We currently do not offer exchanges for personal reasons such as sizing or colour preference, given the handwoven, made-in-small-batches nature of our sarees.
2. Unboxing video is mandatory
To raise a valid exchange request, you must share a continuous, unedited unboxing video — filmed without any pauses or cuts — clearly showing the sealed package being opened. This is the only way we can verify a defect, damage or wrong item, and requests without this video cannot be processed.
3. How to raise a request
Write to us at sutraakoosh@gmail.com or WhatsApp +91 99996 41263 within 10 days of delivery, with your order ID and the unboxing video attached. Our team will review it and confirm the next steps within 2 business days.
4. Pickup & replacement
Once an exchange request is approved, we arrange a free reverse pickup of the item. Your replacement — or store credit, where a replacement is unavailable — is processed once the returned item passes our quality check, typically within 7–10 business days.
5. Blouse piece
The blouse piece included with your saree is an unstitched 0.8m running fabric piece, not pre-tailored. As it is sold as fabric, it follows our standard exchange policy above — eligible only for genuine defects or damage, backed by the mandatory unboxing video.
6. Refunds
Where an exchange or replacement genuinely cannot be fulfilled — for instance, if the same saree is no longer in stock — we will issue a refund to your original payment method, typically within 7–10 business days of the return being received and verified.
7. Order cancellations
Orders can be cancelled free of charge within 4 hours of being placed, as long as they haven't already been packed for dispatch. Please write to us as soon as possible if you need to cancel.

2. Delivery time
Orders are processed and dispatched within 1–3 business days. Once dispatched, delivery typically takes 7 to 10 business days, depending on your location. A tracking link is shared with you by SMS and email as soon as your order ships.
3. Shipping charges
Shipping charges are calculated based on your location and order weight, and are always shown clearly at checkout before you complete payment.
4. Payment
We accept full payment online only, via UPI, cards, net banking or wallets, processed securely through Razorpay at checkout. Cash on Delivery is not available.
5. Packaging
Every saree is quality-checked and carefully packed to protect the fabric and any zari or embellishment work during transit. Please keep an unedited unboxing video while opening your package — it's required if you ever need to raise an exchange request.
6. Delays
While we work with trusted courier partners, delivery timelines may occasionally be affected by weather, regional disruptions or courier delays beyond our control. We'll keep you informed if your order is delayed.
